By the Waters of Babylon

Arkhangelsky sets  the first verse of the Znamenny Chant melody for SATB choir, while the other verses are chanted in unison or by a solo with an "Alleluia" refrain.This classic "Psalm of Exile" (Ps. 136 [137]) is sung on the three Sundays preceding Great Lent in the Orthodox tradition.
