Yuri Yukechev (b. 1947) is prolific and versatile composer from Novosibirsk. His choral cantata Gotovo serdtse moyo (My Heart Is Ready), composed in 1989 on verses from the Psalms of David in Russian (as opposed to Church Slavonic) contains a wonderful progression from unison writing in the first movement (No. 1 "Spokoyno lozhus'"), with a part added in each successive movement until a total of eight parts is reached in the eighth and final section.
