This setting of the Lord’s Prayer has a distinctive and flowing melody that lends itself to congregational participation. Though it is reminiscent of American hymnody in a general sense, no particular hymn tunes are quoted. The setting was composed in 2018 for the Festschrift honoring the 90th birthday of Archpriest Sergei Glagolev, a pioneering figure in the composition of Orthodox liturgical music in the English language.
