Gretchaninoff’s largest-scale setting of the Divine Liturgy (one of four he composed), expands the scope of this service to “symphonic” proportions, while remaining within the a cappella idiom. Some of Gretchaninoff’s best-known “anthems”--The Cherubic Hymn, the Creed (with alto solo), and the Our Father (a.k.a. “Holy, Holy, Holy”) are from this work.
