Pavel Makarov (mid-19th c.-)
MAKAROV, P. (year and date of birth and death unknown) — Makarov’s name is mentioned among the singers of the Imperial Court Chapel under A. F. Lvov. Several of his sacred works were published by various publishers at the beginning of the 20th century, although in the history of Russian church music, he is known as the composer of only one work—“Angel vopiyashe” [“The Angel cried out”] for trio and chorus, which has become a fixture in the repertoire of Russian church choirs from the 19th century to this day.
